In 2014, Wilsons fame exploded to the other side of the Atlantic with greater prominence by announcing her participation as a character on Showtimes The Affair as Alison Lockhart an unreliable young woman with a dark past that falls in love with a married man named Noah Solloway. Wilson received an award in the form of a Golden Globe in 2015 for Best Actress, Television Series Drama. The series also starred Maura Terney as well as Joshua Jackson. Wilson told British Vogue: "I love the fact that I am able to play characters in two perspectives." Noah thinks of Alison as this confident reckless sexy version of her. But she sees herself in a different way she sees herself as timid and unattractive in the real world. The actress said that she believes America has become so moralistic and judgmental that the events in this show appear shocking. Wilson, who left The Simpsons in the year 2018, wasn't forthcoming about the reasons. I was in a position to give up and she would not let me talk about it. She starred with the film of horror I Am the Pretty Thing Who Lives in The House in 2016 and then in the sci-fi rom-com How to Talk to Girls in Parties as the mysterious PT Stella. Adding more of the terror genre to her credits, she's slated to star in the British film version of The Little Stranger a supernatural thriller that is based upon a novel by author Sarah Waters. Wilson is the executive producer of the film.
